Hawaii Health Insurance — The Law And Reality

June 28th, 2009 . by admin

By law, there are a lot of things that are NOT possible. For example, you can’t get a lower rate for the same Hawaii health insurance plan. The law forbids that. But consider this: There were over 10,000 plans the last time I checked. So, since the law stipulated that insurers cannot set different rates for the same plan (Like in other insurance policies), these companies have created a host of different plans for different profiles. But let’s ask ourselves an honest question: Are these 10,000 plus plans really very different from each other? Are they NOT just a way to give you different quotes without breaking the law? For me, I don’t really see any difference between getting multiple quotes for the same plan (as in auto insurance) and getting single health insurance quotes for multiple and numerous — albeit — very similar plans.
