Behind Closed Doors: Wrought Iron Door
July 30th, 2009 . by admin
I’ve been learning some interesting things about doors recently – iron doors, in particular. Do you know what’s behind a closed wrought iron door? Well, behind the beautiful scrollwork is insulated, dual-paned tempered glass. The glass is attached with hinges so that it can be opened towards the inside of the home, leaving the wrought iron door firmly closed or locked. This is excellent for security and also allows for easy cleaning. The hinged glass frame has weather proofing and the door itself is insulated with polyurethane, increasing the door’s energy efficiency. I’m guessing that there is a happy family behind that closed wrought iron door.
