With all the absinthe you can get around Europe – that’s where most of it comes from these days – you would think that London would have its own specialist absinthe store. Alas, no. I have searched pretty much everywhere, but aside from the odd booze store here and there that stocks a bottle or two – usually low quality brands – there’s nothing. Mail order is fine, of course, but Im tiring of not having a proper, real absinthe shop. London is an ideal city for it, too, with proximity to Europe for supplies, and I suspect a healthy market for the products, one that would get a lot healthier if there were ore specialist stores around that would help educate people about the drink.
