Getting a good deal on a hotel room is always an interesting challenge. Most hotels offer multiple rates depending on method of reservation as well as discounts depending on membership in things like auto clubs and AARP. Many hotels modify their rates on a daily basis based on how full they are and whether an inquiry is coming over the phone or whether the person is standing right is front of them. All of this makes getting the best rate something that most people just throw the towel in on. Not me, I like a challenge and I like knowing I got the very best rate I could (or at least that I thought that I could).
